The special investigation team formed to delve into the death of Dueñas, Iloilo Vice Mayor Aimee Paz Lamasan has not received permission yet from her family on an autopsy requested on her remains.

Aside from this, “Special Investigation Team Lamasan” has not also received a reply to the request for a paraffin test on Lamasan’s live-in partner, Lord Byron Torrecarion.

Earlier, Torrecarion was reported to be Lamasan's lone companion when the alleged accidental firing happened. Lamasan sustained a wound on her belly.

Torrecarion is the former director of the Office of Civil Defense Region 8 (Eastern Visayas) and is working currently at the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas tried several times to get a statement from Torrecarion, but is yet to receive a reply from him.

The alleged accidental firing happened on December 30, 2025. Lamasan expired at the hospital while undergoing treatment on New Year’s Eve.

On January 3, 2026, Lamasan’s wake was at a funeral homes in Iloilo City. The news team tried to get a statement from her family, but her child requested privacy while they are grieving over the loss.

On January 4, her remains were taken home to Dueñas.

On January 5, Sangguniang Bayan Member Pia June Pama took her oath of office as the new vice mayor of Dueñas before Mayor Robert Martin Pama and the town’s local government operations officer.

“Ang isinagot nila is hintayin muna kasi nakatutok pa sila sa pag-assist at pag-comfort sa pamilya,” said Major Shella Sangrines, spokesperson of the Iloilo City Police Office.
