A commercial plane got stuck on the runway of the Siquijor Airport due to a deflated tire.

The plane was on landing maneuver on January 5, 2026 at the Siquijor Airport from Mactan Cebu International Airport when a tire deflated and sustained damage.

All 15 passengers were earlier reported to be safe.

A team from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) conducted an investigation on the incident on January 6, 2026.

According to Christian Rey Orlina, officer in charge of CAAP Siquijor Airport, flights will resume once the tire gets fixed.

Orlina added that their office remains open to answer passengers’ concerns.
