The ash emission began at 2:58 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
The event generated grayish plumes that rose to 900 meters above the crater before drifting northwest, as captured by the Internet Protol (IP) camera at Kanlaon Volcano Observatory–Canlaon City (KVO-CC) stations.
Alert Level 2, intensified unrest, remains in effect over Kanlaon Volcano, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
