A newborn boy was who was abandoned at the boundary of Barangays Cabaluay and Manicahan in Zamboanga City was resuced morning on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
Authorities said the baby was placed inside a box and was crying when found by residents.
Barangay Manicahan Chairwoman Erolyn Jade Barredo said personnel of the health center attended to the baby immediately.
Authorities believe the baby may have been left in the area the night before.
The person who abandoned the baby is yet to be identified.
Investigation into the incident continues.
