A 35-year-old laborer was allegedly shot dead by the son of his employer in Barangay Biao Guianga, Davao City on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
Based on investigation, the victim and the 20-year-old suspect were drinking together with two other individuals.
The suspect initially reported that he left his father’s gun unattended while urinating, and that the victim shot himself accidentally.
The victim sustained a gunshot wound in the nose.
However, investigators found out that the suspect lied and established later that the suspect himself shot the victim.
The suspect was taken into police custody and will face murder and illegal possession of firearms charges.
