Police Colonel Kim Legada, director of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), and Police Captain Jeffrey Delgado, chief of Iloilo City Police Station 2, have been relieved from their posts due to the reported lapses in the investigation on the death of Aimee Paz Lamasan, vice mayor of Dueñas, Iloilo.

The two officials were relieved effective Thursday, January 8, 2026, according to Police Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan, director of Police Regional Office (PRO) 6, in a press conference morning on Friday, January 9, 2026.

Police Col. Roland Bulalacao, deputy regional director for operations, will assume Legada’s post temporarily.

The two officials will be assigned temporarily at Camp Delgado, as PRO 6’s investigation on the reported lapses continues.

The result of the investigation will help determine possible cases against the relieved officials.

To recall, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla mentioned of the lapses on the part of the ICPO, in a press conference on Lamasan’s death.

In a GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas report, Remulla expressed dissatisfaction with ICPO's investigation. He said that the police were late in conducting an investigation.

“All gun fire injuries are automatically investigated. They investigated 36 hours later, hinintay pa nila na mamatay si vice mayor saka nila inin-vestigate. They should’ve investigated immediately at the scene of the crime, they didn’t go to the scene of the crime so we had to re-create everything,” Remulla pointed out.
