A video showed of a boy seemingly choking another boy in a classroom in Bugasong, Antique.

Afterwards, other schoolchildren tried to interfere. But the boy who was being strangled was already on the floor grimacing in pain.

The two boys in the video are both Grade 6 pupils in Bugasong, Antique. The one hitting the other boy is alias “Manny,” while the boy who was hurt is alias “Jay-ar,” 11 years old.

The video was taken on January 7, 2026 inside their classroom.

According to Jay-ar's mother, prior to the recording of the video, the two boys were seen to be in child’s play. But a classmate allegedly kicked “Manny."

Manny got angry and  turned his rage at Jay-ar. The incident led to the dislocation of Jay-ar's left elbow.

"Sinakal niya pa habang nakalaylay na yung kamay ng anak ko na nagmamakaawa sa kanya na pakawalan na niya,” alias “Ann,” Jay-ar’s mother, said.

The boys' teacher was not around when the incident happened. The teacher attended reportedly a dance rehearsal for an activity.

Jay-ar is confined, as of this writing, at a hospital in San Jose, Antique. He is set to undergo an operation due to a fracture.

The parents of both boys are set to meet for a dialogue.

Ann, the mother, works in Manila. Prior to the incident, she said that her son was able to divulge about how Manny would hurt him.

"Sinuntok niya ang anak ko. Pero pinabayaan na nga lang namin kasi syempre, away-bata iyan,” Ann added.

The police has investigated the incident, as of this writing.

“Nagka-conduct lang tayo ng lecture sa Grade 6 pupils sa section na iyon. Nag-lecture sila sa anti-bullying,” said Captain Alfonso Precia, officer in charge of Bugasong Municipal Police Station.

The Schools Division Office-Antique has ordered the principal and district supervisor of Bugasong to submit a report on the incident.

As of this writing, a grievance committee is created to focus on the investigation.

The school has already provided financial assistance to the boy and intervention.

“Conduct or administer a psychological first aid sa bata, sa mga bata, hindi lang ang biktima kundi ang iba pang mga bata na involved,” according to Dr. Ernesto Servillon Jr, schools division superintendent of SDO-Antique.

GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas has tried to get the side of the family of one of the boys involved in the incident.
