The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has filed formal charges against two violators of the city’s firecracker ban in Barangay Sasa.
DCPO said the charges were filed before the City Prosector’s Office on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, which marks the sixth case lodged by the police in line with its campaign against firecracker-related hazards.
Police said five other cases were filed on January 3, 2026, for inquest proceedings against violators who were arrested after being caught in the act of lighting firecrackers.
“The latest case involves two additional individuals who chose to disregard the law despite repeated warnings and information drives,” DCPO said.
DCPO reiterated its warning that it will pursue legal action against those who violates the ordinance.
“There will be no mercy for violators of the firecracker ban in Davao City,” DCPO said.
“The DCPO remains steadfast in its duty to ensure a safe, injury-free, and peaceful community, and we will not hesitate to arrest, charge, and prosecute those who choose to defy this mandate,” it added.
