A 65-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed to death his 54-year-old wife and 34-year-old son in Barangay Kiraon, Damulog, Bukidnon.

Based on investigation, the suspect had been drinking alcohol when he was confronted by his son, which resulted in a heated argument.

The altercation reportedly started after the son got angry at his father for pitting a young chicken against larger ones in a cockfight. However, the argument escalated later to other issues.

The suspect and his son went home, where the confrontation turned physical.

During the scuffle, the suspect allegedly grabbed a hunting knife and stabbed his son in the abdomen.

The suspect’s wife witnessed the incident and attempted to intervene, but she was also stabbed in the chest.

The suspect’s wife did not reach the hospital alive while his son died a few hours after being brought to the hospital.

The suspect was turned over to the barangay where he reportedly owned up to the crime.

He will face parricide charges.

So dako nga butang nga ang pag-inom atong likayan,” Navarro added.
