Up to 296 modified mufflers or bora-bora were destroyed in Davao City on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

According to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), these items were confiscated during various operations from September 2025 until the first week of January 2026.

Modified mufflers are prohibited under a city ordinance.

“Sa lahat ng visitation ko sa barangay na pulong pulong ko sa kanila ito parati ang kanilang reklamo ang ingay ng ganitong mga mufflers. Dapat silang sumunod kung hindi sila sumunod di may paglalagyan sila,” DCPO Director, Col. Mannan Muarip, said.

Muarip urged those who have bora-bora to surrender them to authorities.

DCPO also warned those involved in such activities that they are prohibited strictly.

“Inutusan na natin ang mga station commander kung sino ang gumagawa nitong mga mufflers kausapin yon, pagsabihan na bawal pag pinatuloy nila then we will recommend the closure of their establishment through the city government,” Muarip added.
