A barangay chairman in Zarraga, Iloilo is accused of r@ping several times a 15-year-old girl.

According to the victim, alias “Nene,” the suspect sneaked into their house on January 10, 2026.

The victim threatened the suspect she would report the incident this time, as there were alleged incidents of similar nature previously.

The suspect reportedly backed off.

“Sa lolo niya siya nagsumbong. Sabi raw niya, hinipuan at hinalikan siya sa lips. Akala ko iyon lang, kaya sabi ko ipatawag na lang kung ano. Kaso, parang wala naman silang aksyon,” alias “Jun,” the father of the victim, upset at the incident, said.

When the incident was reported at the Zarraga Municipal Police Station on January 12, it was learned that it was not the first time.

There were previous incidents wherein the victim was reportedly r@ped twice. However, the victim feared for her life which stopped her from reporting to the authorities.

The suspect is purportedly not less than 30 years old.

GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas tried to get a statement from the official, but it was his younger sibling who accommodated the news team. However, the sibling did not grant the news team an on-camera interview. The sibling said that the barangay chairman is not living anymore in their residence.

The barangay chairman is nowhere to be found in the barangay since the issue circulated.

The father of the victim said that there were persons who tried to talk to them about the incident.

"Nakapunta ang magulang (reporter: ng kapitan?). Opo, sabi ko ano pa ang pag-uusapan natin, nangyari na iyon. Harapin niya na lang ang kasalanang nagawa niya,” alias “Jun” added.

The Zarraga Police did not conduct anymore an operation against the suspect, citing that the conduct of a hot pursuit has lapsed reportedly.

The police proceeded in processing the filing of charges against the suspect.

“Pina-medical po natin yung bata. At the same time, kasi nag-report na siya ng madaling araw, mga 12 (ng) midnight. We will push through (sa) regular filing po,” said Lt. Vincent Garcia Jr., chief of Zarraga Municipal Police Station.

The victim’s family is awaiting the result of the medical examination, as of posting time.
