The Baguio City local government warned the public after the mobile number of Mayor Benjamin Magalong was compromised reportedly.
In a statement, Mayor Magalong said his mobile number was used without his consent on several messaging applications. He stressed that he did not authorize the use of his number for such accounts.
The city government advised the public to stay alert and be careful when receiving messages or calls that appear to come from the mayor’s number.
Authorities are still investigating how the mobile number was compromised.
