The fluvial procession of the image of the Señor Santo Niño proceeded past 6 a.m. from the Naval Forces Central (Navforcen) in Lapu-Lapu City.
The image of the Señor Santo Niño boarded the "galleon," along with the images of Saint Joseph the Patriarch and the Virgin of Guadalupe and sailed at Mactan Channel.
Throngs of devotees joined the fluvial procession on board their own sea vessels.
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Philippine Navy implemented tight security, as guardians of the sea to ensure the smooth flow of the fluvial procession.
Based on PCG list, registered vessels reached at least 420.
Meanwhile, hundreds of devotees wait along the procession route to catch a glimpse of the passing through of the images of the Sagrada Familia (Holy Family).
Based on PCG assessment, the fluvial procession was generally peaceful and orderly.
