A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat around 9:33 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

PHIVOLCS recorded the tremor initially at magnitude 5.3 before downgrading it to 5.1.

PHIVOLCS added that the tremor had a depth of 15 kilometers and was tectonic in origin.

Intensity II was experienced in Tupi, Tboli, Surallah, and Santo Niño, South Cotabato; and Kiamba, Sarangani while Intensity I was felt in Tantangan and Banga, South Cotabato and General Santos City.
