Several investors from South Korea have expressed interest to invest in the Davao Region following a two-day visit.
According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) said among the potential projects discussed include the establishment of renewable energy facilities, water treatment systems, and waste management projects.
The group also paid a courtesy visit on the Provincial Government of Davao del Norte where they tackled the importance of establishing solar farms in the region to help increase power supply and reduce electricity rates.
Governor Edwin Jubahib assured the investors that the province has available land suitable for the solar projects.
The governor also raised other possible projects, including water treatment facilities through the use of existing dams in the province, and a planned centralized landfill as a potential site for waste-to-energy projects.
Meanwhile, a proposal for a feasibility study on the construction of a biogas facility at the Davao City sanitary landfill was also presented.
The proposal comes as the landfill is nearing full capacity and is already scheduled for closure, highlighting the need for a sustainable waste-to-energy project.
