A truck driver was shot dead in Barangay Poblacion, Compostela, Davao de Oro on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, the Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office identified the victim as alias “Ed,” 62.
Based on investigation, the victim was sitting on a wooden bench in front of a store around three kilometers away from a police station when the assailant wearing a jacket approached and shot him several times.
The victim died on the spot.
Investigators recovered four empty shells of alleged caliber .45 pistol from the crime scene.
Police are eyeing personal grudge as motive.
Authorities are investigating the incident to identify and arrest the gunman.
