A motorcycle driver and his son perished, while his wife and their other son are in critical condition due to a vehicular incident in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental.

A pick-up truck collided with the motorcycle in Barangay Nangka afternoon on January 20, 2026.

The 32-year-old motorcycle driver and his 12-year-old son were pronounced dead on arrival at the Bayawan District Hospital, while his wife and their eight-year-old son are in critical condition, based on police investigation. 

According to Patrolman Junnel Señal, investigator at Bayawan City Police Station, the victims were on their way home when a truck traveling from the opposite direction overtook another vehicle, and collided with the motorcycle.

The victims were thrown off the motorcycle on impact, while the motorcycle was wedged under the pick-up truck.

The driver of the pick-up truck surrendered to the police.

As of this writing, GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak tried to get a statement from the family of the victims, and is awaiting reply.
