Two elderly men were killed in separate road accidents in Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon.
An 80-year-old rider died while his 66-year-old companion was injured after a “bao-bao” tricycle crashed into the motorcycle they were riding in Barangay Taytay, El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental.
The victims were on their way to Hills View when the tricycle reportedly overshot its lane while traveling downhill toward the national highway, causing it to crash into the victims’ motorcycle.
The victims were brought to a hospital, but the rider was declared dead on arrival.
The tricycle driver was taken into police custody after the incident but was released later after both parties reportedly reached an agreement.
Meanwhile, a 63-year-old man died after he was hit and run over by a passenger bus in Barangay Dologon, Maramag, Bukidnon.
Police said the bus was heading to Valencia City when it hit the victim who was crossing the highway.
Shiela Joy Jangad, said.
The victim did not reach the hospital alive.
The bus driver was taken into police custody after the incident but was also released later after the bus company and the family of the victim reached an agreement.
