A 19-year-old motorcycle rider died after the motorcycle he was driving caught fire after crashing with a parked SUV on a bypass bridge in Laoag City early morning on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

The rider became trapped in his motorcycle after the impact, which caused the vehicle to burst into flames. The fire spread quickly, and rescuers failed to save him.

The female back rider was thrown to the side of the burning motorcycle and suffered injuries. Police said she sustained wounds on different parts of her body and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
