At least 11 respondents in a criminal case and 10 in an administrative case in line with the reported anomalous construction of Ungka Flyover in Iloilo City are awaiting the decision of the Office of the Ombudsman.
The respondents have already sent their counter-affidavits after the group of a former Iloilo City councilor filed the cases years back at the Office of the Ombudsman.
According to the petitioner, the contractor in his counter-affidavit has blamed the Department of Public Works and Highways and the consultant for negligence, resulting in the sloppy, unfinished project.
Among respondents are former regional directors and a few project engineers.
Ungka Flyover connects Barangay Ungka in Iloilo City and Pavia, Iloilo to the rest of the areas in Panay Island.
