Classes were suspended in a few areas in Eastern Visayas based on PAGASA weather advisory issued on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, on possible flooding and landslides in Leyte and Samar Provinces due to the inclement weather.
Tacloban City is among Local Government Units (LGUs) that suspended classes.
Mayor Alfred Romualdez issued an executive order declaring the suspension of classes and government work in Tacloban City.
Other LGUs are Palô, Alangalang, Jaro, Kananga, Matalom, Pastrana, Burauen, San Miguel, and Tabontabon in Leyte; Calbiga, Catbalogan City, Daram, Motiong, Pinabacdao, and Zumarraga in Samar; Maasin City in Southern Leyte; Kawayan and Naval in Biliran; as well as Giporlos in Eastern Samar.
Meanwhile, effects of the inclement weather were felt in Bohol. Moderate to heavy rainfall was observed in Panglao. Tourists were seen bringing umbrellas to protect themselves from the downpour.
Classes in the towns of Tubigon and Catigbian were also suspended.
Further, a shipping company in Siquijor suspended its voyages due to the bad weather.
