The Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 has confiscated illegal drugs worth over P60 million in the first month of 2026.

PRO 6 takes pride in their achievement during the Philippine National Police (PNP) Day celebration at Camp Delgado in Iloilo City.

The haul involves the seizure of nine kilos of suspected shabu worth P60.6 million, 94.4 grams of kush (a type of cannabis, or marijuana), and dried marijuana amounting to P72,000.

Along with the haul is the arrest of at least 137 drug personalities.

Meanwhile, PRO 6 came to defend the relief of 46 chiefs of police in the region that took effect on January 30, 2026.

Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan, PRO 6 director, said that aside from overstaying officials, the relief is also connected with the performance of a few chiefs of police.

“For example, hindi compensated yung isang lugar na merong krimen and yet wala silang accomplishment,” Ligan pointed out.

Of the 46 relieved, 13 are from Iloilo Province, 11 from Antique, 10 from Capiz, six from Aklan, five from Iloilo City, and one from Guimaras.

A retraining awaits the relieved personnel that is set for two weeks to one month.

"Hindi lang pagso-solve ng krimen. Hindi lang basta pag-coordinate sa local government. Spectrum, very wide spectrum ng isang commander,” Ligan underscored.
