Cases have been filed against a barangay chairman in Minglanilla, Cebu who plowed through individuals and a bus driver who slammed into a member of the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) in Central Visayas.
The barangay chairman was driving a multicab but reportedly lost control while negotiating a downhill and plowed through persons on the road enjoying a community fiesta, while the passenger bus driver collided with a highway patrol policeman in Barangay Inoburan, City of Naga, Cebu.
Cases for reckless imprudence resulting to physical injuries and reckless imprudence resulting to damage to properties were filed against the barangay chairman of Poblacion Ward 2 on February 3.
A case for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide was filed on February 2 against the bus driver.
According to Police Lt. Col. Maria Theresa Macatangay, chief of the Minglanilla Police Station, the barangay chairman posted bail on February 4.
To recall, the barangay chairman injured eight individuals and damaged two motorcycles in the incident evening on January 31. He said he lost control of the vehicle after its brakes malfunctioned.
On the other hand, Police Lt. Col. Verniño Noserale, chief of the City of Naga Police Station, said that the bus driver has not posted bail.
The vehicular accident in the City of Naga happened morning on February 1.
