The government is dangling a P1 million reward for information that can lead to the arrest of other suspects in the killing of a police officer whose body was found in a septic tank in Malolos City, Bulacan, officials said.
Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said the reward is for anyone who can help identify and locate the remaining suspects in the death of Police Staff Sergeant Renato Casaway, Jr.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Philippine National Police also released CCTV footage linked to the killing.
In a video taken in Barangay Mohon on January 24, 2026, Casaway was seen wearing a hoodie as he met with a police asset wearing a red jacket.
Gunshots were heard later, although the shooting itself was not captured on camera. Investigators said the suspects worked together to dump Casaway’s body into a septic tank.
Police have arrested four suspects, including Police Corporal Vivencio Abalos.
Authorities are still hunting seven others, including the gunman.
Investigators said the killing was linked to Casaway’s work. He was a member of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Group and was targeted allegedly by suspects involved in illegal drugs.
The arrested suspects have not issued any statement.
