The Cebu Technological University (CTU) Main Campus in Cebu City ordered an immediate evacuation of school personnel on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
University personnel said that the evacuation is a "mandatory precautionary measure in response to a reported security concern received by the institution," said a post on The Nation Builder - CTU Main Campus Press.
"The administration is currently coordinating closely with law enforcement authorities, who are on-site to assess the situation. As of this writing, official statements regarding the specific nature of the incident have not been released. The public is advised to avoid the area until further notice," CTU added.
Earlier, in-person classes in Cebu City have been suspended due to the possible impact of Tropical Storm Basyang. Cebu City is among areas in the Visayas placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal Number 1.
