A couple lost their mobile phones and motorcycle to holduppers in Bacolod City.

A closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage showed that a man in white arrived in front of a store. He knocked on the store and tried to raise what seemed to be a tarpaulin used to cover the facade of the closed store.

A woman in hoodie arrived after him and was seemingly looking for help.

The footage was captured by the roadside in Barangay Alangilan on February 4, 2026.

The man in the video is a certain “Ron,” 22 years old, along with his girlfriend that the policemen did not name.

According to police investigation, the two fell victims to a holdupping incident.

“Ron" said three men on board a motorcycle went near them, poked a gun at them, and declared a holdup.

“Ayon sa ating victim, tinutukan sila ng unknown caliber of firearm. Sabi raw, nasaan ang motor mo? Noong una, ayaw pa niyang sabihin pero na-pressure siya at iyon na, kinuha na ang motorsiklo niya,” Captain Ramie Sayson, chief of Bacolod City Station 5.

The store owner, Maricar Arcueno, said she did not hear anyone asking for help.

"Maaga pa kaming nagsara nang time na iyon. Hindi naman namin inakala na may tatambay kasi masama ng panahon. Uupo sana dito ang babae,” Arcueno said.

Barangay Alangilan Chairman Jose Ma. Leandro said that a number of persons hang out by the roadside, or in the exact location of the incident, to "watch the view of lights."

"Pinapaalam ko sa mga pumupunta diyan. Mag-move sana sila mag-10 p.m. na. May signage na kami na inilagay diyan,” Leandro said.

The couple declined an interview with GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas.

Suspects are yet being tracked down, as of this writing, according to the authorities.
