The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported that up to 3,865 passengers were stranded in 39 ports across the Philippines, as of 8 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, due to Tropical Storm #BasyangPH.

In an advisory, PCG said a total of 1,127 rolling cargoes, 79 vessels, and one motorbanca were also stranded, while 111 vessels and 21 motorbancas are taking shelter amid rough sea conditions.

In Northeastern Mindanao, the ports of Eva Macapagal, Lipata, Picop Pier 2, Consuelo, and Nasipit recorded 183 stranded passengers, 69 rolling cargoes, and three vessels, with 59 vessels taking shelter.

In Southwestern Mindanao, 126 passengers, 95 rolling cargoes, and five vessels were stranded in the ports of Zamboanga, Jolo, Dapitan, and Galas Feeder Port, while 10 vessels sought shelter.

In Northern Mindanao, the ports of Cagayan de Oro City and Ozamiz reported 966 stranded passengers and four vessels, with three vessels taking shelter.

Ports in Eastern Visayas, including San Juan, Saint Bernard, Maasin, Benit, Liloan, and Padre Burgos, recorded 249 stranded passengers, 119 rolling cargoes, and two vessels, while four vessels are taking shelter.

In Central Visayas, 429 passengers, 292 rolling cargoes, 46 vessels, and one motorbanca were stranded in 13 ports and anchorages, while 30 vessels and 21 motorbancas are taking shelter.

Meanwhile, Southern Visayas logged 877 stranded passengers, 261 rolling cargoes, and 17 vessels, with three vessels taking shelter in five affected ports.

In Western Visayas, 790 passengers and 170 rolling cargoes were stranded at the Port of Parola and the Iloilo City Fast Craft Terminal, while two vessels are taking shelter.

In the Bicol Region, 245 passengers, 121 rolling cargoes, and two vessels were stranded at the ports of Matnog and Castilla.

PCG continues to monitor sea conditions and has advised the public and maritime operators to remain vigilant and comply with safety regulations as #BasyangPH affects various parts of the country.
