Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolan (Kerwin) Espinosa surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Cebu, said NBI spokesperson Palmer Mallari on Thursday, February 5, 2026, based on a GMA News Online report.

This came after the Cebu Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 14 issued an arrest warrant against Espinosa and others over a murder case, the report added.

The court recommended no bail.

GMA News Online has asked Espinosa's camp for comment, but they have yet to reply as of posting time.

Meanwhile, according to the report of Lloyd Suarez of GMA Super Radyo Cebu, Espinosa surrendered along with two other accused.

Espinosa was escorted by his legal counsel.

Operatives of the NBI led by Director Jose Ermie Monsanto presented Espinosa to Judge Merlo Bagano of the Regional Trial Court Branch 14 at the Cebu City Hall of Justice to process the commitment order for his detention at the Cebu City Jail in Barangay Kalunasan, the report added.

According to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), the others accused are identified as Eddie Mar Mitra, also known as "Rico Francisco," and Marcelo Adorno aka "Loloy."

Espinosa is also known as "Rolando Espinosa, Jr."
