Tropical Storm #BasyangPH has intensified slightly while approaching eastern Mindanao, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.

In its bulletin issued at 5 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, the center of #BasyangPH was estimated at 150 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Norte.

It has a maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 90 km/h.

#BasyangPH is temporarily moving west northwestward but may still move westward in the next 12 hours before turning west northwestward beginning Friday morning, February 6.

PAGASA said the center of #BasyangPH will make its initial landfall over Surigao del Sur tonight, February 5 or early Friday, February 6.

After crossing Mindanao, it is likely to emerge over Bohol Sea Friday morning, and may pass close or make another landfall over Siquijor and the southern portion of Negros Oriental by Friday afternoon to evening.

#BasyangPH will emerge over Sulu Sea by Friday evening or Saturday morning, February 7, and will traverse the northern portion of Palawan between Saturday afternoon and evening.

PAGASA added that #BasyangPH may intensify further before its initial landfall.
