Authorities destroyed more than P7.4 million worth of marijuana plants in a series of operations in the Cordillera region, while police arrested two suspected street-level drug individuals in separate buy-bust operations in Dagupan City, officials said.
In Benguet, law enforcement agents raided eight marijuana plantations in Barangay Tacadang, Kibungan on Sunday, destroying plants valued at more than 1.7 million pesos, according to the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCAR).
On the same day, authorities also discovered a marijuana plantation in Barangay Buscalan, Tinglayan, Kalinga, where about 1.1 million pesos worth of plants were uprooted and destroyed.
Separate operations on February 5 and 6, 2026 in Barangay Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga led to the destruction of marijuana plants valued at around 4.6 million pesos, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Cordillera Administrative Region (PDEA-CAR).
In Dagupan City, police arrested a 23-year-old man in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Malued early Tuesday. February 10. Authorities said they seized about 25 grams of suspected marijuana from the suspect.
In a separate operation early Monday, February 9, police also arrested a 31-year-old man and confiscated more than 12,000 pesos worth of suspected methamphetamine, locally known as shabu.
PLtCol. Michael Bautista, chief of operations of the Dagupan City Police Office, said another suspect was arrested in Barangay Pantal.
“Dito rin sa part ng Brgy. Pantal, nakahuli rin tayo, a certain alyas Wawong. Nagkasa tayo ng buy-bust operation at successfully nahuli po natin sila,” Bautista said.
The two suspects arrested in Dagupan have yet to issue statements. Police said they are listed as street-level drug individuals and will face appropriate charges.
