Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Iloilo City District Engineering Office Head, Engr. Roy Pacanan, was reassigned to the Office of the Regional Director of DPWH 6.

This is based on the order of DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon on January 30, 2026.

The order underscored that Pacanan did not meet the five-year supervisory experience required for the position.

Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Treñas has expressed worry over the reassignment of Pacanan, as it might raise further doubts from the public on the agency’s integrity.

Treñas called on Dizon to reassign Pacanan outside of Western Visayas, and to appoint a qualified district engineer to replace him.

“Ang sa atin is nandito pa rin siya sa Region 6, wherein ang isyu’y nangyari. At sa office mismo na merong itinuturing nating may direct influence and authority,” Joy Fantilaga-Gorzal, spokesperson of Treñas, pointed out.
