A third staging of the Trillion Peso March is set on February 25, 2026 in Iloilo City, in time for the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.
Aside from cause-oriented groups, 86 dioceses of the Roman Catholic Church are expected to participate, one of which is the Archdiocese of Jaro.
“I-insist talaga natin ang transparency, accountability at kung maaari, ma-eradicate ang graft and corruption,” said Msgr. Meliton Oso, convenor of the Kahublagan Kontra Korapsyon (KKK).
But unlike the past two versions, the 3rd Trillion Peso March will be more of a prayer rally, as a Novena at the Saint Clement’s Church will open the gathering at 2 p.m.
A procession will follow toward the Jaro Metropolitan Cathedral where a Holy Mass will be offered at 5 p.m.
Oso is confident that the march would be able to seek justice for the people who are robbed of their money by their own government.
However, he said, cautious steps should be taken. “Gusto natin ang mabilis na trabaho ngunit kung hindi matatag ang case build-up, diyan tayo madidisgrasya,” Oso said.
It was observed that participants in the 2nd Trillion Peso March last November 30, 2025 reduced, compared to the first version on September 21, 2025.
Oso reminded the public not to stop, as the fight is not yet over.
It was in 2025 when the issue on massive corruption of public funds in flood control projects has been exposed.
The exposé initiated several investigations.
However, Fred Plaga, a vendor, said he is still waiting for justice to be served. He thinks he has been waiting for a long time.
“Dumi yan sa sosyudad, eh. Upang huwag sundin ng mga susunod na henerasyon,” Plaga said.
