The 21-year-old suspect in a hit-and-run case that killed a 23-year-old businessman in Barangay Banilad, Cebu City posted bail on Friday, February 13, 2026.

The suspect, Sean Andrew Pajarillo, was seen in a bullet-proof vest and Kevlar helmet coming out of the court after posting bail, limping apparently.

Pajarillo was charged for reckless imprudence resulting to the death of businessman Kingston Ralph Co Cheng in Paseo Saturnino, Maria Luisa Road, Barangay Banilad dawn on February 8, 2026.

The police, including personnel of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), have implemented tight security for the accused.

GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak tried to get a comment from the suspect on his way to a vehicle, but he did not answer.

Pajarillo posted bail worth P72,000 for a case on reckless imprudence resulting to homicide.

Atty. Julito Añora, defense counsel, said that his client will face the case contrary to reports that Pajarillo is set to leave the country.

Añora said that from the court, the accused will be taken back to a medical facility in Mandaue City where he is under hospital arrest.

The suspect has not been discharged yet from the hospital. But as soon as he is dispensed, Añora said, the suspect will go straight to his house.

Further, the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) clarified that the suspect is under their custody.

Police Lt. Col. Jose Lobaños, information officer of the CCPO, said that while the suspect is on hospital arrest, Cebu City police personnel are the only authorized persons to monitor him at the hospital.

Five individuals who claimed reportedly to be Pajarillo’s security escorts tried to enter his hospital ward. They were arrested in coordination with CCPO's counterparts at the Mandaue City Police Office.

However, legal counsels of the five individuals pointed out that they are not private security escorts but friends who intended to visit Pajarillo at the medical facility.
