One died in a shooting incident in Gatuslao Street, Bacolod City, while one is in critical condition.

The victims were on board a motorcycle when they were shot by a yet unidentified assailant.

According to the police, no one heard the shot and that no one saw the incident past 10 p.m. on February 12, 2026.

“Pag-stop, nagpula, natumba sila wala may nakakita even the security guard…abi gani nila naaksidente lang natumba,” said Colonel Eugene Rebadomia, officer in charge of the Bacolod City Police Office.

The victims were taken to the hospital, but 18-year-old Christian Sarsona, the man seen in a video sprawled on the road, was pronounced dead.

His companion, Jerry Gaang, is reported to be in critical condition.

However, it was not established yet which of them drove the motorcycle.

According to police investigation, the two victims have records for theft.

"Gina-check man namon kun ginkawat nila ang motor, [kun] ila ang motor. Tuktok kalawit ang style sang ila operation. Nagapara sang tricycle, nagapanaya armas, kag nagapangawat sila,” Rebadomia added.

The barangay confirmed that Sarsona has been involved in a number of theft incidents.

"Wala man kami nagkulang sa pag-advise sa iya nga ang iya ginahimo indi mayo,” said Monyen Ramos, focal person of Barangay 6 Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) Desk.

Sarsona’s aunt, Catherine Celestino, said that it is also wrong for the culprit to gun down her nephew.

"Tani wala lang nila gin-amo sina ang akon hinablos…amo pa na sa ang ginasaligan sang magulang ya kay ang magulang ya preso,” Celestino said.

GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas is trying to get a statement from the family of Sarsona’s companion.

As of this writing, police are gathering CCTV footage in the vicinity of the crime scene.
