Several motorists were stranded after landslides hit several areas in the Davao Region following heavy rains.
A portion of the road in Gerona, Barangay Upper Ulip, Monkayo, Davao de Oro was impassable after a landslide occurred in the area morning on Friday, February 13, 2026, leaving motorists unable to pass.
Personnel of the Municipal Engineering Office conducted clearing operations immediately to reopen the road.
The road affected is now passable.
Another landslide was also reported in Purok 3, Rizal, which damaged a house partially. No one was reported hurt in the incident.
In Boston, Davao Oriental, a separate landslide occurred in Barangay Sibahay around 4 a.m. on Friday.
A motorist captured on video the wet soil sliding onto the road and blocked the area, which caused travel delays.
Personnel of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) responded to the area to conduct clearing operations.
The area is now passable.
State weather bureau PAGASA said the bad weather experienced in the region was due to the easterlies.
The public is advised to remain alert for potential hazards, including landslides.
