The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) assured the public that security and safety measures will be heightened, especially for minors, on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2026.

According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, DCPO spokesperson, Capt. Hazel Caballero-Tuazon, said authorities will monitor inns, hotels, and other similar establishments closely to ensure that minors are not allowed entry without the presence of their parents or guardians.

Tuazon explained that it is not only on Valentine’s Day that minors are prohibited from entering such establishments, as this is mandated under Republic Act 7610 or the “Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.”

The official added that in previous years, some establishments were found violating the law and cases were filed against them.

Police will also continue to enforce curfew hours and rescue minors found outdoors after curfew to protect them from criminal activity and other dangers.

Meanwhile, flower prices in the Bankerohan Pubic Market tripled ahead of Valentine’s Day.

Prices of premium roses from Bukidnon have jumped to P1,500 per dozen from P500, while half-dozen roses cost P700.

Roses from Calinan, Davao City cost P1,000 per dozen.

Bouquets featuring imported flowers now range from P500 to P1,500, higher than previous prices of P300 to P500.

One of the flower vendors said prices may rise further on Valentine’s Day as demand increases.

Many customers have already made reservations, and sales are expected to pick up on Saturday.

Delivery services for Valentine’s gifts are also available, with a service charge of P69 for deliveries within the downtown area.
