A fire broke out in a mall in the uptown area of Cebu City late afternoon on Friday, February 13, 2026.

An alarm was received at 5:39 p.m. on a fire in a mall in the vicinity of the Fuente Osmeña Rotunda in Cebu City.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and fire volunteers responded immediately to the fire incident on first alarm.

The fire reportedly started from the chimney of a dining establishment, a tenant of Robinsons Fuente.

The fire was declared under control at 6:08 p.m.

The BFP is yet to release information on the cost of damages and the cause of the fire.

As of posting time, the fire investigator has not issued a statement yet on the incident.

The incident caused traffic jam in the area that stretched to other thoroughfares, mostly congested on Fridays or toward the weekend. 

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Robinsons Fuente said, through an official statement, that the fire is an isolated incident.

“An isolated fire incident occurred in a small area of the mall.”

“The fire was immediately put out and safety checks were conducted by our Emergency Response Team together with the Bureau of Fire Protection.”

“The rest of the mall is not affected,” Robinsons Fuente said.
