The family of a complainant of a murder case in Baybay City, Leyte went to see personally Albuera Mayor Rolan (Kerwin) Espinosa to shed light on his implication in the case.

The complainant and members of her family told the mayor on February 16, 2026 that they do not have a hand on the mayor's inclusion to the list of accused individuals.

The mayor has earlier wondered about the inclusion of his name in the case. 

However, Espinosa said he is glad that the family has shown up, and that he received them in his office. 

He urged the complainant to seek the assistance of their lawyer for the removal of his name from the case through legal means. 

To recall, Cebu City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 14 issued a warrant of arrest against Espinosa for a murder case in Baybay City that implicated him. 

Espinosa surrendered at the National Bureau of Investigation Central Visayas on February 5, 2026 but was released on February 10 after the court ruled that it has no jurisdiction over the case.
