A school in Iloilo City suspended face-to-face classes on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 after a student received a bomb threat at around 5 a.m.
The message was sent to a student of the Iloilo Doctors College reportedly through Messenger, along with a voice message.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) checked immediately the school.
After two hours, the school was cleared from any threat.
The authorities have yet to identify the culprit behind the bomb scare.
The incident is the first bomb threat in Iloilo City in 2026 after a series of bomb threats in 2025 that targeted schools.
“Baka kalokohan lang naman. Siya naman ang uusigin ng kanyang konsensya kasi nagbigay siya ng disturbo. But so far, we are doing our best,” said Jose Ma. Nelson Cortez, Disaster Management Coordinator of Iloilo Doctors College.
