Authorities seized alleged smuggled cigarettes worth more than P10 million in Lebak, Sultan Kudarat on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
According to the Police Regional Office-SOCCSKSARGEN (PRO-12), police officers were conducting a mobile patrol and monitoring activities related to a recent shooting incident in the town when they noticed suspicious individuals fleeing the area, prompting authorities to conduct inspection.
The operating team discovered up to 240 boxes of assorted cigarettes worth more than P10.2 million.
One of the suspects was arrested while the primary suspect identified as alias “Hamdan,”48, is being pursued, as of this writing.
"This operation reflects our dedication to curbing the illegal movement of contraband in our communities. I urge our personnel to remain vigilant and encourage the public to support our efforts by reporting any illegal activities,” PRO-12 Director, Brigadier General Arnold Ardiente, said.
