The San Fernando-Talaingod-Tagum Road in Sitio Balakayo, Barangay Kalagangan, San Fernando, Bukidnon has been closed to all types of vehicles temporarily, as of midday on Monday, February 23, 2026, after a landslide and massive rockfall hit the area following torrential rains.
According to the local government, a landslide occurred near Bulikat Spring, which completely blocked the traffic flow.
Heavy equipment has been deployed to the area affected for clearing operations.
However, the local government said removal of massive rock debris is difficult and will require extended time to clear safely.
Motorists are advised not to pass through the area until further notice. They may take the Sayre Highway via Bukidnon-Davao Road (BuDa) if traveling between Bukidnon and Davao del Norte.
“For those already in the vicinity, please follow the instructions of local authorities and avoid staying near mountain slopes, as secondary landslides may occur,” the local government said.
Meanwhile, face-to-face classes in the town from pre-school to secondary levels are suspended on Monday, February 23, 2026, due to torrential rains.
