Authorities seized several explosive components used allegedly for illegal mining in Barangay Bai Saripinang, Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat.
The pieces of evidence were confiscated after members of the Bagumbayan Municipal Police Station served a search warrant for illegal possession of explosives against a certain “Nene Forro” on February 20, 2026.
However, the target remains at large, as of this writing.
The warrant was issued by a court in Tacurong City on the same day.
During the operation, the operating team recovered at least 12 sacks of ammonium nitrate fuel oil weighing 25 kilos per sack, 54 pieces of non-electric blasting caps, and a roll of commercial safety fuse measuring around 750 meters.
These materials were believed to be used for the illegal mining operations in the area.
According to the Police Regional Office-SOCCSKSARGEN (PRO-12), the service of warrant was part of a follow-up operation after authorities dismantled an illegal mining site in the area on February 19, 2026.
The suspect may face charges for illegal possession of explosives.
“Our operations in Bagumbayan are continuous and sustained. From dismantling the illegal mining site on February 19 to the seizure of explosives on February 20, PRO 12 demonstrates its firm resolve to eradicate illegal mining and all related criminal activities. We will relentlessly pursue those responsible and safeguard our communities and environment,” PRO-12 Director, Brigadier General Arnold Ardiente, said.
