Nearly 3,000 police officers are set to be deployed to provide security in Northern Mindanao during the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

The Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) has also activated the Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) and the Quick Response Team (QRT) to reinforce police officers on the ground and ensure immediate response capability for any untoward incident that may arise during the commemoration.

PRO-10 said the 2,949 personnel set for deployment are from provincial and city police offices, mobile force units, and traffic management teams to ensure comprehensive security coverage in identified convergence areas across the region.

PRO-10 Director, Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano, assured the public that the police are prepared fully to ensure public safety and security while respecting constitutional freedom.

“We have directed all field commanders to ensure maximum police visibility, intensify intelligence monitoring, and closely coordinate with local government units and event organizers. Our primary objective is to keep Northern Mindanao safe while respecting the people’s right to peacefully assemble and express their sentiments,” Abrahano said.

Abrahano added that personnel deployed are directed to observe maximum tolerance, professionalism, and full adherence to established public order management protocols.

“As the country marks four decades since the historic 1986 People Power Revolution, PRO10 reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding democratic space while maintaining peace and order throughout Northern Mindanao,” PRO-10 said.

Groups who will hold activities are urged to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and cooperative to ensure that the observance will be peaceful, safe, and meaningful.
