Authorities have revoked the franchise of the tricycle driver in General Santos City who allegedly harassed his female student passenger.
The driver and the passenger appeared before the Public Safety Office (PSO) after the incident was reported on Monday, February 23, 2026.
The student complained that the driver touched her inappropriately during the ride on February 6, 2026.
The Traffic Enforcement Unit of the General Santos City Police Office (TEU-GSCPO) tracked the driver down with the help of CCTV footage.
PSO revoked the suspect’s franchise while investigation into the incident continues.
The driver was also issued a citation ticket and his tricycle was impounded.
The case was endorsed to the Women’s and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) for appropriate action.
“Doon sa lebel ng kanyang ginawa, we endorse that to women’s and children protection desk of the Police Station 1 for appropriate actions and disposition regarding sa kanyang pambastos sa kanyang pasahero,” TEU-GSCPO Chief, Lt. Col. Patrich Elma, said.
TEU urged the riding public to take photos of the tricycle, including the plate number, before riding for future reference in case of incidents.
“Magsakay tayo ng tricycle, kahit advance picturan natin agad. Yung plate number para ma-identify natin for the purposes of future reference. Para at least, kung may gagawin sila, pwede natin mahuli,” Elma added.
Police also warned other tricycle drivers that CCTV monitoring is in place across the city, making it easier to identify and hold accountable those who commit such acts.
“Sa mga may planong gagawa pa may CCTV tayo, almost 400 plus CCTV on place dito sa sentro sa gensan, madali kayong makikita. Madali kayong mababack tract,” Elma said.
