Davao de Oro has been placed under a state of calamity after torrential rains brought by the shear line caused massive flooding and landslides in the province.

The declaration was based on a resolution approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

Based on data from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) as of 8 a.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, around 86,393 families have been affected.

PDRRMO said around 850 families are staying in evacuation centers while about 1,389 families are staying outside evacuation centers.

Four individuals have been confirmed dead.

The local government said at least 22 houses were destroyed while 44 others were damaged.

At least 88 roads and 10 bridges also sustained damage.

PDRRMO said the damage to agriculture was estimated at more than P470 million while damage to livestock reached around P957,800.

The local government said the figures may still change due to ongoing validation.

With the declaration of state of calamity, response efforts, including the delivery of assistance, will be fast-tracked.

The order will remain in effect until it is lifted.
