Cause-oriented groups carried out a protest action in Cebu City participated by students in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of EDSA People Power Revolution on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
Rallyists voiced out their sentiments against the government, citing failed delivery of basic social services, especially to the poor.
The progressive groups have condemned both President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte for causing additional burden to the people with their involvement in alleged massive corruption.
The groups staged their rally at the downtown area and were set to join the activities spearheaded by the Archdiocese of Cebu, beginning 1 p.m. on February 25.
The rally was assessed by the authorities to be peaceful, as police personnel secured the area.
