A 45-year-old man died after the bao-bao tricycle he was driving was hit by a falling balete tree in Barangay Upper Ilang, Davao City.
Based on investigation, the driver was navigating the road with his three passengers when the tree suddenly fell amid heavy rains and hit the tricycle.
Rescue efforts were made, but the victim succumbed to his injuries.
The three passengers were also injured and were given medical attention.
