An alleged commander and a medic of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) were arrested in Tupi, South Cotabato.

According to the 6th Infantry Division (6ID), the suspects were identified as alias “Kagui Tatang,” field commander of the BIFF-Bungos Faction, and alias “Kagui Rowaida,” the group’s medic.

They were arrested by virtue of a warrant for multiple attempted murder, destructive arson, and violation of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020.

During the operation, authorities seized a caliber .45 pistol with ammunition and a grenade.

6ID commander, Major General Jose Vladimir Cagara, lauded the operating team for the successful operation.
