Motorists in Mangaldan, Pangasinan will face a temporary road closure on Friday, March 6, 2026, as the town prepares for a major highlight of the Pindang Festival 2026.

The local government said the entire stretch of Rizal Avenue will be closed to vehicles starting 8 a.m. as part of preparations for the “Kalutan tan Tugtugan ed Dalan,” a street grilling and music event expected to draw thousands of visitors.

The Public Order and Safety Office will implement traffic rerouting during the closure.

“Mayroon na tayong nailatag na rerouting. Doon natin sila padadaanin lahat,” Gerry Ydia, chief of the Mangaldan Public Order and Safety Office, said.

Some motorists said they have already prepared for the temporary closure and will take alternate routes.

“‘Ikot-ikot na lang kami sa bayan kasi sarado ang Rizal,’” Pablo Tagara, a motorist, said.

Another motorist, James Mobido, said drivers may pass through smaller roads to continue working.

“‘May mga iskinita at kanto-kanto. Doon na lang muna kami para makapasada pa rin,’” he said.

Organizers will line up about 500 grills along Rizal Avenue, where vendors will cook seafood, street food, and tapa, Mangaldan’s one-town-one-product.

Officials expect large crowds during the celebration.

“‘Tinatayang nasa 20 hanggang 30 thousand ang makikisaya sa event, mapa-local or mga taga ibang lugar,’” Aji Cabrera, spokesperson of Pindang Festival 2026, said.

The grilling and music event will start at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 6.
