A 73-year-old woman and her 39-year-old son died after they were electrocuted at their eggplant garden in Patnongon, Antique.

According to the police, the son, Eman, was not aware that an aluminum open wire had made contact with an electric outlet at the garden.

He reportedly touched the wire and got electrocuted.

When his mother, Teresita, saw her son fall to the ground, she approached him immediately and held him, which was why she was also electrocuted.

The electricity in the area powers the pump that waters the plants in the garden.

John Rowell Jomolo, investigator at the Patnongon Municipal Police Station.
